What You Could Learn About Dealing With Acid Reflux From The Movie #Southpaw
“WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD”
I took my son and his friends to see the movie Southpaw. It was a great movie where each punch felt like I did when I had Acid Reflux.
The movie was about a championship fighter who lost just about everything. His wife was killed, lost his daughter and his wealth - all because he couldn’t control himself.
Upon leaving I asked my son and his friend what could be learned from the movie? The answers were the following;
1. How anger could cause problems.
2. Making bad decisions gets the results you don’t want.
3. How important family is
While these were excellent points I made a few of my own, which were;
1. Bad decisions limit your choices. Every bad decision makes the next one more difficult.
2. Being angry lowers you IQ, again leading to bad choices.
3. Do the small things right the big things tend to take care of themselves. When Billy started making good decisions things started to work out. Is that only in movies? I think not.
The movie is basically about a boxer who makes one bad choice in an instance and his life starts to spin out of control.
As the bad decisions started to take hold you could see his choices were dramatically limited till he had very little control because his choices became less and less.
So how does the movie Southpaw teach you anything about Acid Reflux and your health?
Just like the star in the movie #JakeGyllenhaal started out as a fighter who had all the wonderful trapping of success then went downhill, so is the person who had no Acid Reflux and doesn’t address the issue.
By the limiting of options, which starts with poor food choices, weight gain, eat big meals, go to bed to close to eating, etc. Low and behold Heartburn starts with a cough, then it progresses to burning in the chest once or twice a week and finally symptoms presents itself 2-3 times a week and before you know the person has full-blown GERD.
While I don’t want to go into what Billy Hope, the star of Southpaw, did I do want to describe the fight back from Acid Reflux.
Once you have GERD you are in a world of hurt, just like Billy. How to you come back from painful nights of not being able to sleep?
The second lesson is do the small things right the big things tend to take care of themselves. The easiest thing to do is take a pill, that’s a good start if your doctor agrees.
The next things will be education and a litany of things your doctor will tell you that will make your head spin.
You are not going to be able to take it all in at once, let alone implement his instructions right away. However keep one thing in mind, what you can do is lift the head of the bed, it could be the easiest small thing you could do to take care of the big problem of acid reflux. Lifting the head of the bed using a mattress could be an absolute game changer that can reverse the spiral and start to give you more choices.
Why is this so important? Lifting the head of the bed adds gravity to hold down the stomach content, and if it should escape the stomach it will drain quicker.
The key is simplicity. If you did what I did which was nothing because there were no under mattress bed wedges you will suffer until you had enough. However over 10 years later you need not suffer, you could just click here and take the first step in doing the first small thing to make the big things in your life work.
Good night, sleep tight, don’t let Acid Reflux bite!

Watergate or Acid Reflux
Watergate or Acid Reflux
by
Tommy Stern
Here at RefluxGuard.com we view everything through the lens of how we can alleviate Acid Reflux. So when Senator Marco Rubio responded to President Obama’s State of the Union Address and reached for Poland Spring did it create the New Watergate, or was it just to sooth his parched throat from Acid Reflux?
President Obama and Marco Rubio were both outlining to their closest friends what gives our country Acid Reflux. Jobs is the number one issue -- this we all know as fact. Each in his own way has a plan to alleviate the problem.
President Obama gives a list of all the things we need to invest in from infrastructure projects to renewable energy which, he claims, “will not cost us a dime.” That’s like my saying have a happy thick fatty juicy burger from the Heart Attack Grille (where recently two of their spokesman had heart attacks) and don’t worry about Acid Reflux. Maybe the President knows something we don’t. When that burger goes down, boy does it feel good, but when it comes up, that shooting burning feeling needs Reflux Guard© to come to the rescue.
On the other hand, there is Senator Rubio. Was he just thirsty or did he develop heartburn from what he heard? Was Senator Rubio giving the American people his own receipt for a Heart Attack Burger, or was he subtly telling us “Drink a lot of water and we will reduce our healthcare costs?”
To quote Elvis Presley, “Suspicious Minds” would ask is there something more sinister going on? Was this the subtle ploy by Poland Spring a move to muscle in on Reflux Guard©’s turf by conspiring with Senator Rubio to eliminate Acid Reflux without medication? Such are the subtle ploys special interest groups utilize to get their way.
Personally I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, even though Dr. Phil says in his new book Life Code (New Rules for Living in the New World) in this day and age we no longer should give the benefit of the doubt. There are to many users and abusers out there from whom we need to protect ourselves.
Whose plan is better for solving Acid Reflux in the new world?
A. President Obama’s?
B. Senator Rubio’s?
C. Poland Spring’s?
D. Prescription Medication’s?
E. Reflux Guard© a one time purchase?
F. All of the above or any combination?

Acid Reflux can lead to serous problems if left untreated. It requires the consultation of a physician.

“Super Bowl and Acid Reflux”
“Sup(p)er Bowl and Acid Reflux”
Today is the second most celebrated day (using food) after Thanksgiving. We have a choice, do we celebrate with or without Acid Reflux? The choice is yours!
We have many options to avoid heartburn, from the kinds of foods we prepare, medication, to lifting up the head of our beds. If you have followed or joined us on facebook you know what does and doesn't work. If you haven’t, “like” us on facebook to get tips on how to keep the burning monster away.
Keep away from the fatty greasy foods, if you can, and wait at least 3 hours before going to bed.
Gotta go and get ready for kickoff and adjust my Reflux Guard© to a bigger slant, just in case I over do it.
Enjoy the game and hope your team wins!
